Meet the Doctors

  • Dr.
    Katherine Henning
    Optometrist

    Dr. Katherine Henning enjoys working with her patients to solve their visual and medical needs and values the lasting relationship created in that process. She obtained an Associates' Degree in Optometric Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Ferris State University and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Beta Sigma Kappa). She furthered her training with a residency in Contact Lens/Corneal Disease at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and continued at UAB as an Assistant Professor in the Cornea/Contact Lens Department. She has been with Blue Ridge Eye Care Associates since 2006. Dr. Henning enjoys volunteering and has provided eyecare in Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Peru. She will also find any excuse to be outside and especially enjoys hiking. She also loves to travel and spend time with her husband and two sons

    J. Nathan Williams
    Optometrist

    Dr. J. Nathan Williams grew up in Galax, Virginia. He attended Wytheville Community College obtaining an associates degree in Science and then went on to finish his undergraduate work at Radford University receiving Bachelor's Degree with a pre medical concentration and honors. He then attended Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia earning his Doctorate of Optometry. During his time at PCO he rotated through several sites such as the Wills Eye Hospital and the Jefferson Concussion Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Nathan enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time with his wife and their son, Orion!

    Lindi Williams
    Optometrist

    Dr. Lindi Williams completed her undergraduate studies at Radford University where she graduated Magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Pre-Health concentration. She then attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry. While in school Dr. Lindi completed internships at the binocular vision and pediatrics clinic at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, and the Salisbury VA for ocular disease. While Dr. Lindi practices full scope optometry, she loves her pediatric patients! Dr. Lindi moved to Galax during her Junior year of high school and graduated from Galax High School! She is very passionate about giving back to the community and supporting other local businesses. Outside of work you can find her spending her time hiking, traveling and making memories with her Husband and their son, Orion!

    Emily Williams
    Optometrist

    Dr. Emily Williams grew up in Galax, Virginia. While finishing high school, she attended Wytheville Community College and Radford University before being accepted at the University of Pikeville - Kentucky College of Optometry in Pikeville, Kentucky. There she earned her Doctorate in Optometry and graduated as Valedictorian of her class. While in school, she rotated through several clinics throughout Eastern Kentucky, which helped to confirm her love for rural optometry. She also rotated through combined optometry/ophthalmology practices in Sioux Falls, SD and Danville, VA, and completed a semester at the Salisbury Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Emily's main interest in optometry is ocular disease. Outside of the office, Dr. Emily enjoys spending time with her friends and family, hiking, reading, cooking, and providing eye care at volunteer medical clinics.
